Peter McQueenie

April 26, 1949 — November 25, 2023

Peter Michael McQueenie was born to Stephen and Elizabeth 04/20/1949 in Edinburgh Scotland.  One of six children, his siblings, included Stephen, Pat, Eleanor and is survived by his sisters Terri (London England) and Jacqui (Charlotte NC).  After marrying Alice Bandy he went on to raise a family In Toronto, Canada and is the beloved father & grandfather to Mark & Ryan along with his two grandchildren, Lara & Lachlan.  Treasured Uncle to Sarah Stewart (Edinburgh, Scotland)  Sharon & Derek Reid, (London, England & New Zealand respectively) as well as Ceollaidh Logie (London, England). Cherished great uncle to Cameron & Jack Stewart (Edinburgh, Scotland).

Peter was a lover of sports spending his childhood years playing football & supporting “the Hibs” as well as being a Manchester Utd. Fan. As a young father he took great pride and time in coaching both his kids at football.  Some of his fondest memories however were watching both children play football and hockey as they grew up, making it to all their games.  While he could never really play the game well, he always had Mark & Ryan out on a golf course trying to teach them the game,  “graze the grass laddie” in his Scottish accent after each swing.

Those in his life admired Peter for the impact he made on others around him.  For the past 20 years he spent much of his time sponsoring others to sobriety while staying sober himself.   He was selfless to a fault at times but it never got him down.  His happiest moments were just being around his grandkids, watching them grow up making sure they both knew how proud he was of them.

A private celebration of his life will take place over the coming holidays.
