Phyllis Craft Segersin

Phyllis Craft Segersin, passed away in the early morning of Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Charlotte Health & Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Michael (Mike) Segersin; son, Robin Stackpole (Cari); sister, Jane Mills (Walter); nephew, Stephen Mills (Elizabeth) and great-nephew, Matthew Mills.  Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Stephen H. and Virginia L. Craft and brother, Stephen H. Craft, Jr.

Phyllis was born in Siler City, NC on November 9, 1949.  As a small child, her parents moved back to Asheboro, NC, where she grew up.  She attended the Asheboro City Schools and was part of the Class of 1968 at Asheboro High School.  Phyllis was an accomplished flutist, seamstress, and hairdresser. 

After high school, Phyllis relocated to the Charlotte area.  You would find her outside on sunny days working in her garden, as she had a passion for flowers.  She was also a prize-winning body builder and weightlifter, in the 1990’s, and was constantly at the local gym.  Phyllis had a kind heart and loved all animals, having many pets through the years.  She will be deeply missed by her husband and family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Gaskin Funeral Services, 14617-B West Lawyers Road, Matthews, NC 28104. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery, off of Old Hwy 64 in Siler City, NC.
