Ray Mitchell Deese II, born on October 23, 1980, in Vero Beach, Florida, left this world on December 11, 2024, in Concord, North Carolina, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Ray was a bright light in the lives of many, radiating excitement in everything he embraced. Whether it was piloting high above the clouds, skateboarding with a spirit unmatched, or expressing his creativity through computer coding and music, his passions defined him. He approached life with a brilliant and inquisitive mind, teaching himself diverse skills and constantly seeking new knowledge. His love for motorcycling and racing further exemplified his adventurous nature, showcasing his zest for life and the thrill of exploration.
A profound love for family and friends characterized Ray’s days, and his heart knew no bounds when it came to caring for those he held dear. He took great pride in his remarkable daughter, Ursula, and cherished the times spent with his beloved granddaughter, Brooke. The joy he found in those relationships was evident to all; he was a devoted father and grandfather whose legacy will continue through them.
Throughout his life, Ray showed immense courage in the face of adversity. Those who knew him admired his optimistic spirit, which served as an inspiration to family and friends alike. He knew deep down that his happiness derived from the love surrounding him, and he was truly blessed in his final days, blessed with the fulfillment of many desires and the warmth of family bonds.
Ray's kind and caring nature drew people to him, and his desire to help others was plain for all to see. He had an abundance of friends and extended family, including his nurturing mother, Susan P Russell, and stepfather, William B Russell, who supported him wholeheartedly. He is also survived by his sister Pamela Evans, nephew Joshua Brazzill, and stepbrothers Chris, Robert, and Jeremy Russell, all of whom will sorely miss his presence in their lives.
A visitation will be held on April 14, 2025, at Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services in Matthews, NC, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Ray Mitchell Deese II will forever be remembered for the vibrant spirit he brought to this world, and the depth of love he imparted to his family and friends. His laughter, creativity, and unyielding support will remain etched in the memories of all who loved him deeply.
