Reverend Carolyn Dearborn, 88 years old of Indian Trail, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, November 24, 1929, to Lloyd and Avis (Greenleaf) Magoon. After graduating from Zion Bible Institute as class valedictorian, she entered the ministry as an Evangelist with her friend Mary Kolodziej. In 1952 she married Robert Dearborn and began her life as a pastor's wife in Harmony, Maine.Together they served the pastorate in Monticello, Maine; Knoxford, NB Canada; Bucksport, Maine; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In 1980, their ministry was redirected to North Carolina to serve with the PTL ministry. Most of her time there included service in the Pastor Follow-up department and the Upper Room ministry. Her immediate family includes her sister, Maxine Holland of Bangor, Maine; brother Harry Magoon and his wife, Mary, of Lincoln, Maine; three daughters; Marjorie DeCeglio and her husband, Jerald, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Kathy Dearborn of Charlotte, North Carolina and Christine Mortelliti and her husband, Antonino, of Novara,Italy; six grandchildren Janelle Burke and her husband, Adam, Robert DeCeglio and his wife, Vita, Bethany Newby and her husband, Daniel, Sara Mortelliti, Jessica Morelliand her husband, Simone, Jonathan Mortelliti and his wife Adrianna, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Joyce Blankenship. -
