Reverend George Bernard Osborne, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Springville, NY, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 23, 2012. George was born January 27, 1919, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Joseph Osborne and Katherine Osborne Hanna. Three years after high school graduation, he married Thelma Rose Spence. They had three children, Sondra R. Osborne Baughman, G. Gareth Osborne, and Keith A. Osborne. On April 11, 1944, George was drafted into the United States Navy. At the conclusion of the war, he was honorably discharged in 1946. Soon after discharge, with the call of God on his life to pursue full-time ministry, he enrolled at Nyack Missionary Institute where he received his degree in Bible and Theology. He retired from the ministry after almost forty years with the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination. During his years as pastor, he also served on the Northeastern District Executive Board of the same denomination. He and his wife of sixty-seven years, lived in Charlotte since 1985, and after Mom passed away on December 15, 2008, he has lived at Charlotte Square Assisted Living. He has ministered to those around him wherever the Lord has led him, and was dearly loved by all. In addition to his three children, Rev. Osborne is survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. George Osborne was a loving father and grandfather. He was known to his family as Dad, Daddy, Grandpa, Pop, Great Pop, and Great Grandpa. His commitment to the spiritual lives of all of us was ongoing over the years. He and Mom were true intercessors and prayer warriors on a daily basis. We will ever be thankful for this gift to our families. We would like to thank all of our family and friends for your support during this difficult time. We especially wish to thank the pastors, friends, and members of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene for their love and support of George and Thelma Osborne over the many years they have been in attendance. Gary and Sharon Osborne would like to thank their Sunday School Class from Central Church of God for their support and love during this time as well. Thank you Gaskin Services for your leadership in this event. Thank You, The Osborne Family - -
