Ricky D. Miller

Ricky D. Miller was born May 23, 1948, and passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2017. His adoring wife, Susan, along with their precious daughter Jenna, and son-in-law Sean Dion lovingly surrounded Ricky's bedside at the Levine-Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. In his youth, Ricky was a member of the Charlotte Boys Choir. He graduated in 1968 from Crossnore High School. As an Army Vietnam Veteran, Ricky proudly served his country from 1968 to 1970 in the Army Signal Core. In 1979, Ricky and Susan Holland Miller were married and have one beloved daughter, Jenna Sheree Miller Dion. For most of Ricky's career, he was in construction management, working for Ryan Homes for a number of years as a Service Manager. He thoroughly enjoyed the maintenance of a beautiful property in Lake Norman where he worked part time until he became ill in 2015. Ricky loved the Lord, his family, friends, golfing, fishing and caring for wild birds. He was a great athlete, could repair anything, was a tremendous confidant, who listened more than he spoke. In 2005, Ricky learned to play the harmonica, with perfect pitch and was quite good. This world will never be as sweet as when Ricky was here. The celebration of Ricky's life will be held at 7:00 PM on October 19, 2017 in the sanctuary of Idlewild Baptist Church, 12701 Idlewild Road, Matthews NC. Visitation will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Ricky D.
