Rob Hughlet, of Charlotte, age 41, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, very unexpectedly, on May 1, 2014. He was the son of Robert E. "Eddie" Hughlet and the late Jane Bowles Hughlet. Rob was self-employed as a commercial and residential general contractor, most recently as the owner of Encore American Construction. His creativity was evident in everything from his building designs to his culinary skills. He loved spending time with family and friends and his childlike spirit made him a favorite of children of all ages. Some of the things that made him happy were fishing with Kelly, gardening, photography, day trading, cooking and Clemson football. Rob was a gifted musician and had an appreciation of art of all forms. Rob was so loving, so passionate, so adventurous, and had a sense of humor like no other. There was never a dull moment when Rob was around! In addition to his mother, Rob is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Veata. Left to cherish their memories of Rob are his Dad and buddy, Eddie Hughlet, and his wife, best friend and love of his life, Kelly. Rob is also survived by Kelly's parents, Arnold and Barbara Thornton, and Kelly's brothers and lifelong friends, Trey and Lee Thornton, and families. Other surviving family members include his Aunts Linda "Fussy" McInnis and Sandra Gates; Uncles Mitch Hughlet and Darryl Bowles; Cousins Cheryl Clodfelter, Kathy Queen, Tina Brooks, Brian Bowles, Cathy Bowles and families; Nephew Blaine Edwards; Nieces Bethany and Sarah Thornton; Grandma Amy, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Carolyn and lifelong friends Anthony Lewis and Roy "Bubba" Unsell and families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America at 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 or www.hdsa.org. - -
