Robert Edward "Bob" Jefferies

Bob Jefferies, 84, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, April 9, 2011. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Doris Dickson Jefferies. Bob was born in Baltimore, MD. During WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Army; specifically in Field Artillery. Concluding his tour-of-duty in Japan, Bob returned to the U.S. and to civilian life. In 1951, he moved his family to Charlotte and began a career with Duke Power that lasted until his retirement with that company in 1992. Bob loved his Lord above all things and lived a life in serving others. He was a faithful husband, loving father, and proud granddaddy. His immediate family includes his children, Sharon Swaringen and her husband, Gary, and Richard Jefferies and his wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Bryan Swaringen, Tim Jefferies and his wife, Becky, and Mandie Jefferies, all of Matthews; his sister, Dorothy Wilhelm of Delaware; two brothers, Dave Jefferies of Illinois and Ed Jefferies of Tennessee.
