Roberto Emmanuel Ortiz Perez, lovingly known as Bolita, was born on April 2, 2010, in Charlotte, NC. With a heart larger than life, he brought joy and warmth to those around him. Tragically, he departed this world too soon on January 19, 2025, after a car accident that claimed his life. In those last moments, he was surrounded by the spirit of what he loved most – dancing, a testament to the vibrant soul he was.
A bright and charismatic young man, Roberto possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with others. He made friends effortlessly, always ready with a smile that could light up the darkest room. His charm and sense of humor made him the life of any gathering, effortlessly bringing laughter to his family and friends. He had a creative flair, with a passion for drawing and puzzles, and he found joy in the rhythm of traditional Mexican music, which became the soundtrack to his joyous life.
Roberto's love for his family knew no bounds. He cherished the simple yet profound moments of togetherness, often seen watching television with his younger siblings or sharing heartfelt prayers with his mother each morning on their way to school. At family birthdays, he was the embodiment of enthusiasm, ensuring everyone was laughing and having a great time. His siblings – Edgar, Henry, Joseph, and Sarai – were his playmates and partners in fun, whether they were dancing the night away at parties or engaging in spirited movie nights.
He was recently a freshman at South Mecklenburg High School, having completed elementary school at Collinswood Language Academy. Those who knew him admired his enthusiasm for learning, coupled with a deep love for his faith. He enjoyed attending church, eager to learn and serve God, which reflected the kindness and compassion that defined his young life.
Roberto's vibrant spirit extended beyond academics and family life. He embraced hobbies that allowed him to explore his passions; he loved exercising with Edgar, hiking with his family, and making every moment count in nature's embrace. His friends knew him as the go-to dancer whose talents shone bright during quinceañeras, reinforcing his ability to spread happiness through rhythm and movement.
The memories we hold dear are many, but none shine as brightly as the laughter he brought into our lives. The world will forever be a little less bright without him, and yet his spirit lingers in our hearts, reminding us of the joy he spread.
Roberto will continue to live on in his loving parents, Roberto Ortiz and Sara Perez, and his adoring siblings: Edgar Gonzalez, Henry Gonzalez, Joseph Alvarez, and Sarai Ortiz's hearts. The impact of his life touches every individual who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
The visitation will be held on January 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services in Matthews, NC. A Mass will follow on January 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Nuestra Señora De La Asuncion in Charlotte, NC, with a graveside service set for 1:30 PM at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Bolita, we take solace in knowing his spirit dances eternally, and he will always be remembered as the vibrant soul who filled our lives with love and laughter.
