Rodrick Parks "Rod" Mullis

Rodrick (Rod) Parks Mullis, 62, of Monroe, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 11, 2017. Rod was born August 31, 1954, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, and is the son of Roy Parks Mullis and Shirley Simpson Smith. Rod grew up in Mooresville and graduated from South Iredell High School in 1973. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For most of his life, Rod worked in the construction industry until he took on his ultimate calling of being a PawPaw to his five grandchildren. He attended the Silver Star Cowboy Church in New Salem, North Carolina. Rod loved riding horses, watching westerns, and spending time with his family. His immediate family, in addition to his parents, includes his loving wife Sheila Mullis; his daughter, Desmarae Mullis Hayes (Brendan); his daughter Reannon Mullis Wright (Robby); and his grandchildren Reese, Rindy, and Radley Wright; Teagan and Kelsey Hayes.
