Roscoe White

Roscoe White Jr. passed away June 17, 2016. He was born September 7, 1926 in Akron, Ohio. Mr. White graduated Oak Hill School, Lenoir, NC, in 1943, and served in the Army Air Corp Aviation Cadets officer program while attending Davidson College. He was then activated to regular Army Air Corps and was trained as a machine gun turret electrician on B-29, serving in Occupational Forces in Salzburg, Austria. Mr. White graduated Georgia Tech in 1950 as an Electrical Engineer. He then started his career with Duke Power until 1988. He served as Past President Charlotte Engineer Club and IEEE Club. Mr. White is preceded in death by parents, Porter Roscoe White and Aline Penland White, and wife Judith Hartis White. He is survived by wife Donna Long White and Stepdaughters Marie, Loraine, and Annett. Siblings Elva White Reid and Max C. White (Jane), sons, Jerry L. White (Jane), Russell P. White (Martha), and William P. White (Wendy); Grandsons, Joseph P. White (Meghan), John P. White, James P. White, William Gordon White, Colton W. White, and Great-Granddaughter, Mallory Judith White.
