Rose Marie Mansfield

Rose Marie Taylor Mansfield, 86, of Indian Trail, NC, stepped into eternity on Sunday morning, January 19, 2025.

Rose Marie was born on August 28,1938 to Roland Thurman Taylor and Rosa Ward Steelman Taylor in Durham, NC. They later moved to Charlotte, NC where she graduated from Central High School in 1955. In 1957, her only child, Amy, was born during her first marriage.

Rose Marie had several jobs throughout her lifetime in different industries but none were more important to her than the duties of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In 1984, Rose Marie finally found the love of her life, James Copeland Mansfield.  They married and made a home in Charlotte, NC, then in Solana Beach, CA for 7 years before Jim died unexpectedly.  Rose Marie moved back to Charlotte, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Rose Marie loved to encourage friends and family with her handmade cards.  She also spent a lot of time in prayer and reading her Bible.

Rose Marie is preceded in death by her parents and husband Jim.  She is survived by her daughter Amy Capps (Alan), step son Mark Mansfield (Joni) and step daughter Ashley Mansfield Edwards (Eric); grandchildren, Dr. Matt Capps (Laura), Katie Capps Barker (Todd), and step grandchildren Megan Mansfield, Michael Mansfield, Maddie Mansfield, John Ross Edwards, Grayson Edwards; great grandchildren, Solomon, Brody, Ruby and Abby; and her beloved family dog, Scout.
