"Since 1993, Sam has served Charlotte Country Day School as an assistant junior varsity football coach. He was a Country Day supporter through and through, and embodied the spirit of their athletics program as both a player and a coach. Like his father, beloved varsity football coach, John Cook (who served as head coach from 1959-1986), Sam was the epitome of sportsmanship, character, and the pursuit of excellence. He was a four-sport athlete as a student and name male athlete of the year as a senior. Sam and his father were the very first inductees to the Charlotte Country day School Athletic Hall of Honor in 1999." - taken from the Charlotte Country Day School website: http://www.charlottecountryday.org/news/detail
