Stacy A. Byrd

Stacy A. Byrd, 72, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010, while at home, with his loving and devoted wife, Gayle, and other family members by his side. Stacy was born September 5, 1938, in Johnston County, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, he began a career in transportation, first in Raleigh with A.G. Boone Trucking Company and then Standard Trucking. In 1970, following a career opportunity, he moved his family to Charlotte. In 2005, he retired from Weyerhauser. Stacy was a loving and devoted father, husband, and proud "Paw Paw". He truly loved attending activities that included his grandchildren. In the early 1990's, he and Gayle became proud members of Central Church of God and until illness prevented it, he faithfully served as an usher. Stacy was such a kind and gentle man, and he never let an opportunity pass to be a witness for his Lord and Savior. He touched countless lives for the Kingdom. Stacy's immediate family includes his wife of 52 years, Gayle Byrd; his daughter, Pamela Byrd; his son, Ashley Byrd; his grandchildren, Tamara, Katrina, Elena, and Alfredo Pareja.
