Sven Kaarel Aavaste

Sven Kaarel Aavaste, 57, of Belmont, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father Arnold Aavaste, half brother Rein Aavaste, Paternal grandparents, Kaarel Magnus Aavaste and Aline Nigols Aavaste, maternal grandparents Elmar Weckram and Akulina Liivoja Weckram. Mr. Aavaste was born December 5, 1960, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Mercy Hospital to the late Arnold Aavaste and Lia Weckram Aavaste. He was a Boy Scout and a newspaper carrier for The Charlotte News. Sven graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and studied Auto Mechanics at Central Piedmont Community College. Sven's career included Kawa Dental in Charlotte, NC, North American Van Lines, various positions as a sub-contractor, and retired from Helms Electrical. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC. His immediate family includes his mother, Lia Weckram Aavaste of Mint Hill, NC, fiancé Karen Speas of Belmont, NC , sister Linda A. Hunnicutt and husband Robert of Midland, NC, Nephew, Christopher Hunnicutt and wife Allison and child Callie, Niece - Ashley Morrison and husband Dylan and children Harper and Amelia, Sister Ellen A. Helms and husband, Ronald Helms of Mint Hill, NC, Nephew Marshall Helms and neice Carly Jane Helms and son Maxwell Konstantin of Mint Hill, NC, Sister-in-law Ingi R. Aavaste and Nephews Andrus Aavaste and Tarmo Aavaste of Estonia. Aunt Mai Liis and cousins Lisa Dickinson of Austin, TX and daughter Laura, Victoria Dickinson and son Nate of CA, cousin Richard Dickinson and Michael Dickinson of CA. Sven accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life and would love to see you at the reunion in Heaven. A private service will be held on April 7, 2018 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. -
