Theresa Abbate

Theresa Abbate peacefully passed into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, September 29th, 2018. Theresa was born July 20th, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of Giovanni Giannone and Rosaria Catandella. She is preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Vincent Abbate. Her immediate family includes her Children: son Vinny Abbate and wife Sherry; son Michael Abbate and wife Rita; daughter Rosalie Ruello and husband Philip; son Joseph Abbate and wife Marilyn and son Anthony Abbate and wife Amelia. Grandchildren: Jason Abbate, Joshua Abbate, Adam Abbate and wife Meghann, Marie Lohr and husband Joe, Michael Abbate, Laurie Ruello, Christina Lewis and husband Derek, Teresa Mossaidis and husband Demetrius, Tinamarie Cox and husband Paul and Vinny Abbate. 6 Great Grandchildren: Andrea, Isabella, Joey, Brinkley, Zachary and Jeremy. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. During her long and blessed life, Theresa (Tessie or Terry as she was also called) loved all her family above all. She shared her strong faith in God, kindness and compassion with anyone she met. Cooking (she made the best Lasagna), watching old movies and hosting big family meals on holidays were her favorite things to do. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
