Thomas (Tommy) Edmond Hough, Sr. of Mint Hill, NC, 82 passed away October 26, 2020.
A celebration of his life will be Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11am at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC. Pastor Loran Livingston will be officiating. There will be a brief graveside service to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
Tommy was born August 4, 1938 to Joe W Hough, Sr. and Ailene Taylor Hough in Rennert, NC. He moved to Charlotte in 1960 when he became engaged to his wife, Margaret. When he asked for her hand in marriage, his mother-in-law to be, Dolly Abernethy, gave her blessing with the stipulation that her daughter was not to leave Charlotte. Tommy worked at Harris Trucking Co. before settling into Dixie Tag & Label, Co. When the company moved, he decided not to relocate with them and went to work for Carolina Transfer and Storage for a while. After that, he drove a limo for Rose Limousine, where he met some interesting and famous people.
Tommy has been a member at Central Church for almost 40 years. He loved his church, where he was very involved with the choir and the pastor’s council. He and Margaret went on several mission trips with the choir. He also, very much enjoyed working with the kitchen crew. As well as, playing golf with his buddies from the church.
Tommy lived a long and full life with wife Margaret. They just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He loved his family dearly and was very proud of them. He loved to joke and cut-up with people. If he was teasing you, you knew he counted you as a friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Ailene Hough and his oldest brother, Joe W. Hough, Jr. He will live on in the memory of those he is survived by, which is his wife, Margaret, his 3 children; Jeneal (Dwayne), Dawn and Edmond; his brothers; Bill Hough(Betty) and Ted Hough(Wanda); his sister Mary Tyner; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Carlaysle, Kristen, Rose, Grace (Casey), Kelsey (David), Braiden, Stewart, Chandler, Madalyn, and great grandchildren; Ryleigh, Arleigh and Piersyn.
