He retired in Virginia and was transferred to North Carolina as an automotive manager for Woolco. He also managed Color Tile, Family Dollar, and Petroleum World. Tom loved music especially instrumental jazz, country and gospel. He also had a love of reading and enjoyed being around young children. His Garfield collection was one of his prized possessions as well as his extensive model car collection...his earlier days were filled with Llionel trains and entire rooms were devoted to them. As a young father he was active in the Boy Scouts and played the saxophone. League Bowling was also a favorite which he shared with his wife Madgie and their daughter Janice. An avid reader and student of the bible he was strong in his faith and lived and died with his convictions. He was an active member of the Masons and served as an example of strength, morality, and principles to the young men of his lodge. He was active in his church and taught Sunday school. His strong will, steadfast faith, and undying love will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was a man you could always count on and his love for us will never be replaced. -
