Anthony "Tony" Taylor, born on February 4, 1950, in Bluefield, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2024, at Novant Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by a warmth that reflects the love he brought into the lives of those who knew him. A devoted husband, father, and Pop, Tony was cherished deeply by his family and friends.
Tony was known for his welcoming spirit; he never met a stranger and possessed the remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home. He was truly loved by many, and his kind heart made a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Tony had many stories to share (over and over), captivating his audience with tales that brought joy and warmth. He enjoyed working in his yard and playing with his dogs Molly and Jake.
An avid sports fan, he devoted countless hours watching the Carolina Panthers, App State, and WVU Mountaineers football. However, it was his children and grandchildren who held the most special place in his heart; there was no greater joy for Tony than spoiling them with love and attention.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Treva, who stood by him through every moment of their intertwined journeys; their bond was a beautiful example of love's enduring power. He is also survived by his sons, Anthony and wife, Andrea Taylor and Zachary and wife Jessica Taylor, who carry forward his spirit in their own families. Tony’s legacy continues with his grandchildren: Bailey, Skyler, Levi, Gaven, and Zoey, who will forever remember their 'Pop' for his playful nature and boundless affection.
Tony joins his late father, Zed Taylor; his late mother, Evelyn Perdue Taylor; and his late brother, Lindon Taylor, where he can now share his stories with them once more.
A visitation in celebration of Tony's life will be held on September 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services in Matthews, NC. This time will be a reflection of the love shared and the many lives touched by Tony, as family and friends gather to honor the beautiful memories forged during his lifetime.
As we remember Tony, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness, laughter, and boundless love, ensuring that his legacy lives on in every heart that he touched.
A special thank you to the staff on the 4th floor and for the great care given to him by the Hospice team at Novant Presbyterian Hospital.
