Marion "Wade" Wilson, 61, of Mt. Holly, North Carolina, made his final journey to his Heavenly Home, with Jesus, Saturday, August 17, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest B. Wilson, and his brother, Mike H. Wilson. Born in Kinston, North Carolina, December 14, 1951, he grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School. Like his father and brother, Wade made a career in construction as a heavy equipment operator. In 1975, he pursued a promising opportunity as an operator in Fairbanks, Alaska. He and his brother established themselves with H&H Construction and other various outfitting companies. For 22 years he traveled spending summers working in Alaska and maintaining two homes; one in Alaska, and the other in North Carolina. In 1997, he retired settling in North Carolina. In retirement, he loved spending time with his family and on his pontoon. Wade was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. His immediate family includes his mother, Bonnie H. Wilson; his wife of 42 years, Pansy "Pam" S. Wilson; his son, Michael W. Wilson, and his wife, Heather; his daughter, Sunny K. Walls, and her husband, Mark; step daughter, Michelle S. Newman, and her husband, Steve; step son, Ronnie M. Sherrill, and his wife, Frances; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. *The family is requesting that memorials be made to Hospice of Lincoln County.
