William Paul Shvidrik

William Paul Shvidrik, 78, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home with his family in Lake Wylie, South Carolina on November 17, 2010. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years Phyllis, his three children Lynne Speakman of Clover SC, Nick Shvidrik of Lake Wylie SC and Tanya Hurd of Rock Hill SC, as well as his seven grandchildren William, Jesse, Devin, Elizabeth, Samantha, Christina and Paul. Bill served in the U.S. Navy and then earned his BS in Electrical Engineering at the Newark College of Engineering in Newark, NJ. His professional life included 30 years with Bell Laboratories/Bellcore of Livingston, New Jersey. After retiring in 1993, Bill and Phyllis moved to Lake Wylie, SC to be near their children. He was a member of the River Hills Community Church in Lake Wylie along with Phyllis. Bill will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and devotion to his family. He enjoyed watching birds, reading, doing crosswords, going out to eat and being with his family.
