About Us

In 2024 Gaskin Funeral Service was purchased by Joe Stephenson forming Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Service. Joe is a native of Alabama and worked for several years in the funeral industry before enlisting in the US Army. Upon his retirement, Joe came back to the industry that he loved and continued to manage numerous firms both privately owned and corporate owned throughout South Carolina and North Carolina.  Joe is dual licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in both North Carolina and South Carolina. Joe believed in the quality of service and dream that Wayne had for Gaskin Funeral Service and is honored to be able to continue his legacy with pride.  

Brad started working in Funeral Service in his hometown of Lancaster, SC in 1995. He became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in SC in 2000 and received his license in NC in 2003. He has spent most of his time in the industry educating the families in the communities about the importance and value of preplanning in advance. His goal is to alleviate the emotional and financial burdens on families when they experience a death.

Brad and his wife Tarah have four children, Zander, Evan, Luke and Selah.
